Correct!
Wrong!
Dr. Alan Greenspan succeeded Paul Volcker as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve when he was nominated by President Reagan in 1987. The Senate confirmed him in August of the same year. President George H. W. Bush retained Greenspan despite occasional economic downturns. When Bill Clinton was elected he had a high regard for Dr. Greenspan and considered him a close adviser. Despite Dr. Greenspan raising the interest rate several times in 2000, President George Bush appointed him to a fifth term. Greenspan was replaced by Ben Bernanke in 2006.
